Musician Tom “T-Bone” Wolk died on Saturday of a heart attack at age 58. Mr. Wolk will be familiar to our readers for his work with the Saturday Night Live house band during the G.E. Smith years. But we prefer to remember him as the bassist, to Mr. Smith’s lead guitar, for the great underrated white soul duo (yeah, we said it) Hall & Oates. According to the band’s manager, Daryl Hall “used to refer to him as the ampersand” in the band’s name.
